Iraq and Persia oil when they join the Axis

Iraq and Persia joined the Axis after I conquered Egypt through Syria. I have a German controlled rail line from Iraq to the Mediterranean. Germany has over 30 free merchant marines Why am I not receiving any oil from these countries? Thanks for your help!

Update: I counted up my oil and see that I am getting the oil from both iraq and persia but productions in those countries show zero and convoys/trade is not used at all to get it. Is that by design? I thought I would have to transport it to Germany.

It's possible oil might be making its way through the Mediterranean to Italy using Italian merchant points. I don't think you can use German MMs as they likely can't get into the Med past Gibraltar. (I don't know if there is an exception if you capture that too.)

That makes sense but shouldn't the italian med convoy show up in the convoy list?
