Soviet Rifle Corps

Okay, the rifle corps are now 120 production 3-2-2 units in the patch, great.

But when the Soviet Union goes to war the rifle corps revert to 3-1-2. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but it ends up with all these units losing 1 point CV and makes them probably not worth building. Is this intended, or a scripting bug?

The cavalry retain their new changed values when the Soviets go to war, so that is working at least.

Should be in events.txt 39 and 40

So does this mean that come Barbarossa, the inf xxx are as feeble as ever, and the cav are permanently weakened? This will not help solve the early Barbarossa problem[&:]

Once this bug is fixed, I think it will be okay Sillflower. Was playing around with build orders today.

You don't even have to disband any rifle corps now. The 3-2-2 rifle corps start as 2 point CV units even with 20% experience. Anything you build will come in at 3-4 points depending on your tech level.

So you can spam a bunch of these things before the war. Or mix and match with the stronger mech units to taste.

That's why this bug is kind of a big deal, when you are losing 1 pt CV out of every rifle corps they drop by 33%-50% in combat power and we are back to square one, the new combat stats make a big difference.

Does it affect the game no matter what side you play? Do we wait for a fix or it doesn't matter that much?

Is it necessary for both players to patch this file? or just the Allies player?
Do we have to restart a PBEM in progress already started using 1.00.07?

Don't quote me on this, but I am pretty sure that scripts/scenarios are "folded it the game save" when created, so script and scenario changes are not picked up without a restart. Only engine changes apply to existing games.

That is my understanding.

So if I am correct, you would need to restart.

Be sure to change BOTH event items.

There are 2 for the large corps.

This is the 2nd one. Should be 2 events below the 1st one on the events.txt

Any chance the right file could be uploaded for 1939? I would hate to restart some PBEM games with an incorrectly, manually edited file? Or verify this file is correct?

I have nowhere near the ability to change the event items shown above. So I guess I'll have to wait to play this game until it's fixed in a patch.

I must be doing something wrong, because I can't get this changed script to work, corps are still showing the wrong values when the Sovs go to war.

You will also need to update Europe 1941 scenario. For example, the 16th Rifle Corps is showing 3-1-3 at the start of Barbarossa.

I'm not going to use the google link to fix 100.07. Which is the better choice to play, 100.06 or 100.07 with the rifle corps bug?
