recent update, and pbem version

So I did the recent update and it says on they initial start screen that I have version 1.00.18.01 but when I am i pbem it says i only have .18 and I can't take games with the .18.01 so what happened?

I had the same issue and then I reinstalled the hotfix and the correct version displayed and I was able to accept a 18.01 version game.

Idk what is going on but I uninstalled and reinstalled everything again and it still won't let me take 01 games and it still only shows correct version on start screen

Are you using a Steam version or a Matrix one?

Uninstall and reinstall. I just removed all WP Steam folders and installed it fresh. It comes up v1.00.181

Uninstalled and reinstalled for the 4th or 5th time still same deal! clearly something is messed up with my game since others are getting it to work. So I can't remember what I did but say I accidently copy and pasted the steam version in the initial fix, what would that do?

When you uninstalled the game did you verify that there was no trace of the original game installation visible in the folder structure?
If the WarPlan folder is still present for some reason, then I would suggest renaming the existing WarPlan folder to something like WarPlanold so that the installer doesn't think there is an exiting installation.

Then do a new install of the game, and then the updates: 1.08.0 --> 1.08.01 --> Hotfix for PBEM

Make sure any anti-virus software is disabled. They cause problems. But they shouldn't. Someone else had a similar issue. This has to do with Windows permissions.

After renaming the old war plan file like Lascar suggested I no longer get that message before install but it still isn't the latest version in pbem and always goes to turn 1, this is so dumb going to wait awhile to install these patches from now on!

Not the Warplan file but the main folder: WarPlan. rename it to WarPlan_old so that the installer does not see any of it.
The sure fire way to resolve this is to uninstall and reinstall the game completely and then update to the current version and hotfix for pbem.
I am not suggesting uninstalling the game completely at this point because you may not have to resort to that.

After I reinstalled the hotfix it corrected and I was able to accept a game with the latest update.

That's what I meant. I rnamed old file. It seems like a clean install because my old graphics mods that kept hanging around are now gone

just tried that didn't seem to help! idk I can still do updates and have them work just tried SC civil war update and it worked fine. something is screwy with this update. And it wrecked 4 good games. we need an update that just works and fixes the stupid pbem issues! I have redone everything and tried it all this thing only pretends to update and doesn't fix anything, I can't be the only one with this issue!
