Private WiF NetPlay Forum
Is anyone else having difficulty accessing the Private WiF NetPlay Forum? I tried to log on tonight, and the first time I saw someone else there, but couldn't see any of the games. Now I see nobody else and can't access games.
I had previously been able to access and post.

I just tried and could not access the seeking opponent database. Assume the forum is down for awhile as it worked earlier today.ORIGINAL: rogerdubbs

RE: Private WiF NetPlay Forum
I am having problems connecting to the Netplay forum.
I keep getting the following error:
User name invalid: < 4 or 21+ symbols; illegal symbol (e.g., blank). Unable to access Seeking Opponent database.
I have registered accounts and they have been merged (I can see this under My Account)
I have re-registered my Forum Registration details as well. But still keep getting the same error.
Can anyone help?
Or tell me what I should be looking at to troubleshoot?

Look in your World in Flames folder for the file: NetPlayRegistration.txt. It should have one line in it and that line should be your MWIF product code.
Also look for the file: NetPlayReg.txt. It should have four lines in it like this: (there really are no '>' or '<' characters, I just use those to delimit the info)
<your username>
<your current password>
<your email address (the one you gave upon registering)>
<the location you gave>
Possibly that file won't exist yet if you never got on the forum, but if it does, then likely the first two lines are the important ones and you need to make sure your username and password are exact matches to your Matrix username and password including upper or lower case of any letters.
If that doesn't point to the problem then contact Matrix customer support.

I seem to have got rid of the "User name invalid ..." error by using my Matrix Forum username to login to Netplay, but I still get the "Unable to access Seeking Opponent database" error whenever I select "Seeking Posts" or if I attempt to Submit a "New post".ORIGINAL: paulderynck

When I select "Active games" I don't see anything (maybe there is in fact nothing there to see), although it does say "Ready" in the status bar.
My NetPlayRegistration.txt file content is correct (this matches my product reg exactly ,including the dashes '-').
NOTE: I can actually start and play an internet game with a friend of mine.
And the NetPlayReg.txt file content is in the format you suggested as well. (this also appears correct)

<my Matrix Forum password>
<my Matrix Forum email address>
<my location>
Here are a list of my accounts for the 3 websites.
Website Name UserName
Matrix gooseberri
Matrix Forum Gooseberry
Slitherine gooseberri
The thing to note here is that the Matrix and Slitherine usernames are the same, whilst the Matrix Forum name is different.
Could this be part of the problem?
Can you verify which account I should be using?
And should I be able to see anything in the "Actve games" or "Seeking posts" windows?

Sorry but these questions are beyond my experience with the forum.

Yeah, the names have to match. I am not sure how to do that though.[:(]ORIGINAL: Gooseberry

I am having the same issue. My Slitherine, Matrix and Netplay usernames match exactly, so the problem must be elsewhere.

My best guess is that your user names and passwords for MWIF and Slitherine are not the identical.
