I feel like CW is not having enough escorting ships. Have anyone ever had enough? How does that feel like?

I usually have 3 in the 4 box, 3 in the 1 box and 3 in the 0 box with a sprinkling of cvls. This breaks down the farther I get from Axis SUB bases. Is certainly my goal in faroes, n. Atlantic and cape st Vincent and the Med, if I have not abandoned it. I try my best to meet that number in the other endangered zones as well.

I guess I have been busy building planes and land units, I don’t have that kind of numbers. And wasted 18 BPs to CV/BB is can’t build 2nd cyckle. Sailors are happy to admiral messing things up :D

Is this with or without optional rule cruisers in flames? We are playing without.

CW begin the game with 27 CAs, and has another 8, on the way or in the pools. Then there is a number of French CAs as well, or Free French, when France has fallen.

Then there are the minor country cruisers, or BBs, that are usually added to the CW force. Especially if one use a few old BBs to escort with as well. Remember, the BBs have the same ASW as cruisers when playing without the light cruisers.

That is plenty of cruisers to escort convoys without building any from scratch. It usually comes down to what you prioritize.

Edit: I meant on what missions you prioritize the use of cruisers for. Because there are not enough cruisers to do it all, And, for example, one uses cruisers for losses every time there is a chance to do so, and include some cruisers to all missions for the purpose to take losses, then it might be hard to find enough cruisers to escort heavily.

Correct. I have not prioritized escorts but I have built some. I have also lost them.

Besides, the intrinsic convoy ASW value that Allied convoy has is more than enough to slaughter any Axis SUB brave enough to go for submarine combat. Grump.

Now, onwards with the searches.

The only time you feel that you have enough escorts is when you have eliminated all the threats to your convoys. In my humble opinion, that is.

Impulse #18 (Axis)

Allies find in the BoB. (Axis 7, Allies 1)

I am continuing with the assumption that Allies avoid battle. Can always change that if so desired. :)

Impulse #18 (Axis)

Axis finds in CVB (2-8), selects 0-box only and selects submarine combat. Use half the points to eliminate the aborts on own SUBs, and the other half to sink all Allied CPs.

Axis stay.

Does Allies stay?

Impulse #18 (Axis)

After some contemplation the Axis SUB commander decides to exclude the SUBs in CVB the second time around.

And after some more contemplation, the attack order is given in the North Atlantic.

And now over to Japan, and the main event, taking place in the China Sea. USA has one FTR2 that can reach the two box. USSR has a FTR2 that reach the 0-box, and one LND2 that reach the 1-box. Will any fly?

Note that the naval review form in the picture is only showing ships that are in the 4-box.
