CCEE and Christmas

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Unfortunately, it looks like COG: EE will be a post-Christmas release at this point, probably early 1Q 2009. Sorry Kid. We have a bunch of new stuff out though in the last couple of months and we're about to release Hired Guns as well, so there should be a few games to keep you busy until COG: EE is completed.

I can say that the additional time is because of the ongoing pursuit of perfection and it will be worth the wait once it arrives.

Well, we might make Orthodox Christmas. Perhaps you should follow in George Costanza's footsteps and convert to Latvian Orthodox!

Oh good choice!
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

Let's insist on a neutral date like e.g. 22nd January.

Ooooooops, that's my birthday. What a coincidence! [:D][:D][:D]

I know that this has been asked and answered, BUT...

As long as there is a delay, I would like to ask (nicely) for unit graphics that match the quality of those in Forge of Freedom!

One of the most compelling things about the Napoleonic battlefield is the beauty and diversity of the Napoleonic uniforms. PLEASE please please consider doing this. If not now, then as a patch later.

I realize that there may be extra time and cost, but it would be SOOOO worth it, and would take this game to the next level.

Thanks for listening. :)

Judging by a certain recently released game, which I happily am waiting on improvements before purchase, I endorse pursuit of perfection. Might I suggest Velentine's day for release date?...I Love perfect wargames.

As I've done so many times before, I'll take a minute to second the motion for updated unit graphics in detailed battles. [:)]

We hear you guys -- the detailed battle graphics for FOF are undeniably a leap forward from COG's. (Not that COG's are bad!) But as I noted a few months ago, redoing the graphics for COG would add several months of work, at this point delaying release until the 2nd Quarter of next year at the very least. It's just A LOT of work. We decided to focus our graphics efforts on redoing the map and adding naval detailed combat, and think that was the right call.

By the way, the game is VERY close: tonight we start inserting screenshots into the manual, which only happens once the text is done, and those ship graphics are soon to be implemented (with screenshots to follow!). We're now working on a series of tutorial videos, as well. So all signs point to a release in early 2009.

Agreed. COG is my favorite Matrix title and will surely only be superceded by its successor!
