Detailed Battle - Maps

Post by Jutland13 »

Will the detailed battle maps be randomly generated, or will there be some historical battefields? I really enjoyed COG, but the detailed battle maps were often confusing illogical setups. In some cases my troops appeared on one-hex islands, which they could not move off.
Graphics look great, Naval Combat is a real welcome aspect, I will be really interested to see shots of the battlefields. Thanks, good work.

No historical battlefields, since that's an enormous amount of work and would have greatly delayed the project had we implemented it. Perhaps the next incarnation of COG could have it, a few years down the road.

There has been some work done on how randomized battlefields will be created, which should cut down on situations like the one you described. I can't guarantee it, but my guess is that you'll see an improvement.

Can players make their own battle maps and incorporate them into the random selection?

No, there's no map editor. It's something we might include in a future product.
