Seaborne forces and supply

Post by Larry Reese »

Greetings folks,

Is there any way that union (or confederate) forces landed by sea in the enemy's strategic rear can keep themselves supplied? They can't capture a province since you have to have one adjacent to it already, but shouldn't they be able to forage and/or recieve resupply by sea to maintain fighting strength? Mine never seem to do any of that and gradually waste away instead. Obviously seaborne supply is possible (the whole Peninsular Campaign for example was supplied by sea); what am I doing wrong?

Thanks again,

LR

Sea supply is available when you have a non-empty fleet in an adjacent sea province to the province containing the military group concerned. Its the lowest form of advanced supply so its advisable to turn the group supply level up to ensure a reasonable amount of supply and some reinforcements.
