This revised and updated turn-based grand strategy game from the team at AGEOD brings players back to World War I, including both the Eastern and Western fronts and over 4 campaigns and 10 scenarios. As either a member of the Central Powers, the Entente or a neutral nation, players will confront the epic gauntlet of military and political challenges that faced the likes of Kitchener, Joffre, Luddendorf, Clemenceau, Czar Nicholas II or Enver Pasha.

I own WITP and love it and I always wanted a good grand strategy game for world war one. GOA was not my cup of tea because it didn't seam deep enough. This game looks like it will be worth the buy once the bugs are fixed up and I had a question about specifications...

My computer has

1.73 GHZ Dual Core
1.5 GB RAM
128MB Video Card (its a generic laptop style video card not built for gaming)

Would this game work on my laptop or not? I would love to get this game around Christmas but I don't want to drop 50 dollars on it if my computer wont run it. I know the requirements are posted but the only thing not met by my computer is the GHZ are to few by .07 which given that i have two CPUs might not even matter. (plus I have played many a game that require more GHZ than my computer has, it just tends to run a bit slower is all)

My main fear I suppose would be the graphics card because it isn't a gaming card.

Thanks

I think you will be OK. your Ram may be on the low side, but it looks like you have good processor My CPU is a 4 year old Athlon 3500; if it can handle it, your dual core should have no problem. With the recent patch's, RAM use on my system has dropped considerably, but once in a while it will still will get close to two gigs.

I added 2 gigs of RAM to my system for this game. To be honest, the improved performance generated by the patches was far more noticeable than to the added RAM. I was playing with only 1 gig initially.

The integrated laptop video card should not be a problem?

I think it should still run the game OK, but that further reduces the available RAM. You will be running the game using virtual memory which will likely slow it down.

What you need is a demo-not sure when that will be available.

Because of my system specs (Athlon XP 3000, 1 gig ram and a 6800 128 mb discrete card), I also have some concerns re: how well the game will run.  There are a few AGEod posts that are using systems similar to mine w/o any problems.  But I will wait for the demo and a few more patches before I decide to buy.

My main problem is that I would need the demo soon because I don't have 50 dollars to spend on this since I am going to Germany in may/june and am in college with one job but not enough extra income after expences to buy this until summer. So if I get this I will get it as a Christmas gift... Hopefully they release the demo, otherwise maybe I will end up with Distant Guns.
