What to do with Alert Points?

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

What to do with Alert Points?

Post by Fred98 »

If you go to page 35 of the manual, paragraph 9.1. At the bottom right corner is a screen shot of the Alert Points screen.

I know that if I take the correct objectives at the right time I can accumulate more Alert Points.

From that screen shot-:

1)how many more points do I require to receive a reinforcement unit?

2)how many more points do I require to receive a replacement?

3)If I take an objective and receive Alert points, how can I tell whether they will be allocated to reinforcements or to replacements?

4)And how can I tell whether that reinforcement/replacement will be armour or infantry?

Joe for questions 1-3 go to Section 9.1.1 and 9.1.2 in the rule book (page 36). Basically press "Q" and you'll receive the replacement info you're after (Replacement Pop Up) and the Objective Pop Up will help you with reinforcement alert info.

As for question 4, I'm assuming the types of replacements received will be random as the bottom of page 35 states - "this process is automatic... beyond the control of the player".
