Save games

Post by milesjb »

How can a game be saved? I've gone to the save/load game icon
and after clicking on it, I've typed a name in the save game field, but I can't figure out what to do to save the game I've named. I'm trying to save a tutorial scenario half way through. The manual doesn't really give any instructions, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,
Miles

yeah you need to hit the enter button after typing in the save game name.

When you play a PBEM this is also essential when you type the name of the PBEM file when you are setting up the game initially.

I've typed a name in the "Save Game Name" box and hit the Enter key. Nothing happens. What should happen after hitting Enter?

Yeah, I didn't figure this out either. Usually you don't have to hit enter in game save situations but you do in this game. :( :)

Well, with some experimentation, I've come to the conclusion that a tutorial scenario cannot be saved. In a standard scenario, the
"Save Game" tab appears after hitting "Enter". But there is no
"Save Game" tab available after using " Enter" in a tutorial.

That is good to know. So don't start a tutorial scenario unless you have the time to finish it.

You cannot save a Tutorial, but it *does* generate autosaves after each turn.

So just reload that...

One caveat - I went in to the load game screen just to see what saves were there. All that was there was an autosave. I deleted that. Then I was stuck - there's no "back" or "Main" button, all you can do from that screen is load a game. I had to shut the game down and restart it to get out of that screen.
