Metrix Version vs WF Gold

Post by Tiger88_slith »

Well - I am going to make another post - hopefully someone from Matrix can help me out with this one - since I have had no response with my last post on this message board....

Here goes -

I have the New Matrix edition of the games - a buddy of mine is playing with the older WF Gold edition....upon starting a new game with me moving 1st or with him starting the game on his end with me moving first - my buddy still is getting the black screen and the one hex in the upper left corner upon trying to review/replay my turn. So basically we are incompatible as far as being able to play again....

We have to be doing something wrong or perhaps this is a true bug/unfixable event and then therefore I have wasted $50 bucks and will go back to my old discs...

Is it a stock scenario or custom?

Do you both have the scenario files installed?

Are they the same scenario scenario files, same dates, etc?

Can you both open the scenario in the scenario editor?

It is a custom scenario Jason - and I will have to check to see if either of us can open it up in the scenario editor.....do you think that is what we both need to do?

PS - not miffed at you Jason inside the matrix team - but am disappointed that I posted over the weekend with a serious tech question and I still have had no response from any techy here at Matrix on this......not really sure what to think about that to be honest with you!

Just noticed your other post.

According the dogovich

"Error code 486 is the one you get when you try to run the game without installing it with a proper serial number."

Not sure what to suggest, possibly reinstalling and ensuring the password is correct.

FYI, the password protection that they have added will not allow you to PBEM against yourself.
