Please help

Post by Itlnprd1 »

I just reinstalled this game and when I go to run it a box pops up stating this:

This application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect

I have the most updated patches.

This is a FAQ.
ORIGINAL: berto

"The program has failed to launch" or "The application has failed to start" -- Why?

This is aka the "side-by-side" error.
"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."
Most likely, you don't have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package.

Make sure you get the right version for your system architecture (32 vs. 64 bit)!
So just download and install. That should fix the problem.

berto, I was having the same problem today when I reinstalled the game and couldn't get it to run from the launcher or in the directries. After downloading the Visual C++2008 package everything works fine.

Thanks for your help,
