Games Don't Boot Up on CS Game Menu

Post by MrTheoSir »

I downloaded JTCS from the Slitherine website last year , I'm on windows 11 and had absolutely no problem. Recently because of a totally unrelated problem I had to reformat my hard drive so reinstalled JTCS and everything seemed to download okay, I clicked on the shortcut and the CS game menu popped up and when I run my cursor over the text it makes that (in)famous "radio squaking" and when I click on something like Register, Forums, Support Game Manuel etc everything boots up okay

The problem is despite making the radio squaking noise when I run the cursor over PLAY , East Front , West Front and Rising Sun none of the games play when I click on them nothing happens. Anyone know how to rectify this problem ?

Have you tried to go to the various EXE's and set the EXE's so they run as ADMIN?

No and being a luddite - I have a rough idea of turning a computer on and off and that's where my comp skills end - how would I go about that Jason ?

If you do this, do it for ALL EXE's.

Thanks for your help and patience Jason. I right clicked on the short cut icon and clicked on properties , run the program on windows 8 compatibility . No change. Unticked the box and ticked the box Run this program as administrator. No change. Ticked both the windows 8 compatibility box and Run this program as administrator. No change which was very disappointing and frustrating since I had a problem with Age Of Empires a few years ago and that was easily solved by ticking the compatibility box

So I tried the other thing you suggested and tried running the EXE and got an info box every time I tried it. I've enclosed the screenshot

Side by side means you haven't installed this:

Follow this thread, it breaks it all down for you:

The link in the first step is the link I provided you above.

General MrTheoSir has just awarded Jason Petho the Matrix Games Victoria Cross for services above and beyond the call of duty, The game is now up and running. I'm still slightly amazed I'd just about given up on it. In fact never mind the game , my laptop was almost about to be thrown out the window due to my frustration so thank you once again
