Crop Circles on the Mini-Map

Post by Veers »

How do you make the crop circles appear for just one unit on a map that is small enough that you cannot move the mini-map?

Sorry Wyatt, maybe it's the twins running about like a couple of savages, my oldest daughter "singing" at the top of her lungs along with her player, or the lack of caffeine, but what are you asking here?

HAHA! Sounds like your Easter is going mightily well! :D
What I'm asking:
When I go to the second 'state' of the 'unit visibility button', you see the crop circle (I use this term because I can't even remember the other one, and that's a plus [:D]) for just the highlighted unit. Now, in a larger scenario, you can give the mini-map a nudge, and viola (Yes, I know it's spelt wrong, but this is how I would jokiningly pronounce it in real life [sometimes my idosyncracies don't transfer well into text]) you would have that individual crop circle come up on the mini-map. However, in a smaller scenario, where you cannot nudge the mini-map, you cannot get the individual's crop circle to come up on the mini-map. You would have to go to the next 'state' of the 'unit visibility button', which then means you also have every other crop circle up there, and that can just get confusing.
So, how do you see a single crop circle on the mini-map? Or can't you currently?

EDIT: Are the twins male or female?

Veers,

I don't do the nudge thing. I just cycle through the unit on/off thing until I come round in a circle. This works for nudgeable maps and unnudgeble maps. Unnudgeable? Too much chocolate... [:)]

You're welcome. Don't forget though that you will have to do the unit visibility on/off shuffle every time you select another unit. The crop circle thingy is a bit flakey at the moment but no doubt it will be unflaked in the next issue.

It's strange. For anything else, the multiple click thing to get something working would be a real pain. But for crop circles, probably because they are so wonderfully useful, it doesn't seem too bad.

Time for more chocolate... and a cup of tea.

Best wishes,

OK, so I've got to ask, what do the crop circles signify?  I'm only on page 17 of rules, but I was messing with the control panel buttons and saw some cricles pop up for one of the buttons, so I assume those are the crop circles yo mean.

thanks,
Rick

Those are the DBR (Displayed Bombardment Ranges). This feature was added in the last patch and are described in the "Whatsnew" pdf. Since it's a new feature it isn't in the manual.

No problem. Excitement about the product is good...[;)]

I do recommend, however, that you check out some of the documentation and features found in the start menu items. That way, the next time that some bonehead tries to convince you that "TOAW III is nothing but a $50 patch" you'll be able to speak with authority in setting him straight...[:D]

Enjoy and thank for the purchase!
