Is my game patched? And a couple questions

Post by *Lava* »

Dunno...

But I think while playing Barbarossa 41 that the Soviet AI didn't do it's turn.

Seems weird. I can send you a save if you want (just execute the german move and see if Elmer plays when it's over). Probably just a hiccup or something I missed on the move.

Meanwhile, it's turn 5, and neither side has "reconstituted" units in the upcoming reinforcement dialog. Is it too early for them to be showing up?

Ray,

If you're playing solo against a computer player, there is a possibility of a turn "flip" through variable initiative. That is, you might go something like this:

A1S1
A2S2
S3A3
A4S4

You may not have noticed when there was the transition to turn 3, where the Soviets go two turns in a row, and then you got the same occurring on the transition to turn 4.

As far as reconstituting units go, they should be appearing on the scheduled reinforcement track if you are playing with the game patched.

Yep, I was thinking about that and how stupid I'm making myself look on the forums.

My game is patched but maybe it's still a little early. Any "rule of thumb" on how long this should take? The Russians have taken a lot of hits and on Turn 6 no reconstituted units have yet should up on their expected reinforcements.

Just trying to verify that reconstitution works with the patch, but perhaps its too early in the game.

Don't worry about it. If you have questions, it's a safe bet that others do, too. Somebody's got to be "the one" to ask...[;)]

I just ran through a POvPO game of Barbarossa 41 up into the Axis Turn 3. Then I stopped it, and ended the turn manually. Opening the Soviet expected reinforcement page, and scrolling down a bit, I see the following screenshot. As you can see, there are plenty of units being reconstituted.

Are you looking at the "Expected Reinforcement" page, or at the "Recent Reinforcement" page? The latter only shows what has appeared on the current turn, and makes no distinction as to whether an arriving unit is reconstituted, or "freshly" built.

Well...

This is what I see:

Image

Downloaded the patch from the members section and opened it in the main directory.

Is there anywhere you can find the version of your game... can't seem to find it, but am pretty sure I executed the patch. Mind you, it wouldn't be the first time a patch didn't take the first time I executed it.

From the Menu item, Help > About The Operational Art of War...
You should see the following, if you executed the patch. I believe the release version was 3.0.0.13 (lucky 13!). The patch was version 3.0.0.14. You'll have to look quickly, since the credits begin scrolling pretty soon after you click "About..."

Hmmm, houston, we have a problem. I thought I patched my game but I guess I didn't install correctly. I just unzipped the patch to my TOAW 3 folder. Take a look at my "about" opening
(Image)

Edit: Duhhh, I didn't realize the patch was an application that had to be run the like the initial download package, thought it was like the ACOW patch. I'm officially beta patched now. I'm still curious why my version said 12 instead of 13 though
I have returned
