Importing oob-file

Post by Erik2 »

I am replacing all equipment in Marc Custer's Bitter Victory-scenario.
I have successfully used XML Marker v1.1 to search/replace about 90% of the equipment slots.
Then suddenly while using F5 to import I get this C++ error:
Is it a problem with 3.4 or the XML editor?

Can you please post or email the file you're trying to import?

Thanks,
Ralph

I'm going to post my findings here since it may help someone else.

You got an unprintable character in one of the map labels.

I found this out by the following...

Rename the file from .oob to .xml

Double-click it to open it in IE.

The bottom left corner says the page has errors and has an exclamation point.

Double-click on that and says that Line 137, Column 68

I opened that in Notepad++, and that line says...

<OBJECTIVE ID="2" DESCRIPTION="75,54 (<Funny Char>Comiso)" X="75" Y="54"/>

It looks like that label has a funny character in it.
