It's one of the few channels I watch. Along with TLC, History, Boomerang, and Speed.

I like TLC, history and Si Fi. I don't get the military channel. I do also like Mail call.[:D] The "old Gunney" cracks me up.

Oh yeah. Mail Call is one of the few times I've seen my grandfather sit down to watch TV. He, like me, has little use for most of the channels.

I just got a taste of the "military Ch." myself...I am enjoying it so far. Just the first day with it...but my friends say it is worth the few extra bucks on the cable bill.

My alternative nickname (Gunny Erwin) has become an unwitting takeoff on Gunny Lee Ermey, the host of Mail Call and a guy who's made a reputation as a personality. No matter -- I like the guy, and he loves the Marines, too. I guess we're both a bit "over the top", huh?

You got a problem with that, maggot? Drop and give me twenty!

Gunny, R. Lee Ermey is a Marine veteran. He served in Vietnam, and was forced to retire due to injuries sustained there. His "personality" may have gotten him fame, but that doesn't make him less of a Marine. His honorary promotion to Gunnery Sergeant was in recognition of his support of the Corps.

One of my heros.

I knew that, but I just wanted somebody else to step up and recognize the Few and the Proud. The Corps does have many fans in these parts. [:D]

Did anyone see the Colour of War series that ran on the History Channel? I bought a couple of episodes on dvd the other day. There is something about seeing that ww2 footage in colour that makes it all seem more real somehow and really brings home what those guys went through.
