TEM (terrain effects modifiers)?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

TEM (terrain effects modifiers)?

Post by Jack »

I am trying to figure out tactical advantages when employing my units.
1. What kind of benifit do I get for placing a unit in a shell hole? Does it apply to infantry as well as vehicles? It is not in the chart (i).
2. Mixed, sometimes the terrain is described as mixed. Mixed with what?
Great game just trying to get all the facts. And the price is right too. Great job guys at Matrix.

shell holes only help infanty. Infantry pinned or "in cover" in shell hole hexes will gain protection, infantry just advancing do not.

"mixed terrain" means it is mostly clear but has some small bits of cover here and there. Players seem to equate 'Clear" terrain with a golf fairway. Its just a cue tht mot much "clear" terrain has NO cover whatsoever...

I thinkt the important part is, to put the unit there AFTER the shellhole is created <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> .

So prone infantry (non moving) in shellhole hexes don´t get any benefit from the shellholes? They must be pinned or in-cover status?

Ok..what kind of protection class is it? Fair or Good? Else?

its "fair" 45 out of 100 on the "Cover meter"

The shell hole is only a small part of teh hex, if you are advancing and "go to ground" you are flat where you are, if pinned or "in cover" you seek the best place in the hex to hide.
