Historic Ratings/National Characteristics

Can anyone tell me if I it is possible to change Historic Ratings and National Characteristics, and, if so, how I might do so?

At the moment, the only way I can get around them is by turning them OFF in 'Preferences' and then manually altering the values for the troops. I am currently engaged upon writing a mod and want to be able to change the base values so that this process would not be necessary.

I have come across a file called WW2_Stat.txt which appears to have some relevance but:
1. I don't know what the numbers stand for;
2. I don't know if it is an active file or merely a dump; and,
3. I don't know if it applies to WaW (It refers to SP2WWII).

Also, can anyone tell me if the 'Survivability' rating of units applies only to vehicles (which I suspect is the case) or can it also be altered for Infantry units (which I doubt, but which would be very useful). If it cannot, then is the only way of increasing the toughness of Infantry through increasing their Experience?

Also, is it possible to change the default Leader names?

Any help most appreciated.

Panzer Leo changed default ratings, but not national characteristics in H2H.

Don't know where they are, though, but it's possible and relatively simple once you know where.

The text file is strange. If it's not in the SPWAW directory it's probably not relevant for SPWAW.

Survivability has nothing to do with anything other than vehicles, we asked Paul V about this back about 2 years ago when we wanted to adjust AT gun survivability.

If you want infantry class units more resistant to damage there is the setting on the pref screen, that affects all such units on a side though.

Leader names are built in. You can edit them in prebuilt scenarios and campaigns, you just take your luck when using the battle generator.

With one of the Chandla tools you can load a scenario and have it reroll the stats for the troops.
