Italians advance on Agedabia 1/8/42

January 8,1942
0700 Hours

Once again the Germans have given us the dubius honer of engageing the British this time at Agedabia. We are to make our advance into Agedabia if at all possible and push the Britsh out of there. We will hold down the right flank of the Grenadiers as they advance on our left flank.

A co will be on the north flank near the top map edge while B Co will be on there right flank sort of more to the middle of the map. To the right of them will be our two companys of tanks. And too there right will be C Co almost at the extreme southern edge of the map. We will all begin our advance at 0700 hours exactly. Our gunners will have a clear day and a long visability range today. Should be able to open up on the enemy armor at or near 1700 yards. The terrain out in front of us is mostly open flat land with maybe a few small rises here and there. Not much for them to hide behind as we move forward and our gunners are going to have a field day today.

Our long range 75 and 90 MM ATG I hope will turn the day for us. Trying right now to move them up on any kind of light hill or rise behind our line so they can open up as soon as the enemy comes into view.

0720 Hours


One hour and twenty minutes into the battle and we have taken all of the forward objectives. We have also taken out over 2/3 of the enemys forces. This battle was ours from the opening shot. Our gunners have beeen right on all day. The tank force sitting on the right flank of B co and the north flank of C in the south has really been tearing the heck out of the enemy forces today. They have controlled the land area in front of them all day with acurate firing and excellent targeting of the enemys tanks. They have moved fast today and have taken the southern rear objective already and are making a move NE towards the northen rear one. The two companys of tanks en mass has been a force the enemy was unable to deal with.

All the other companys have been holding the line very well today. Not too much in the way of slackers holding up our movement. Most of the men have been keeping up very well. A few heavy Machine guns and maybe a couple of morters have gotten behind but they are really trying to catch up. All in all the men have pushed and pushed hard most of the day. The British have just about given up and are starting to leave the field en mass. Our infantry will take the northen objective with in the half hour im sure. They have moved to with in 400 yards of there objective and there is next to no resistence any more from the British.

Actually i believe we could do a cake walk all the way to the rear of the map. The only thing that holds us up now is the terrain and how hard it is to walk or drive over it. There is no enemy troops or tanks in front of us that could stop us.

0845 Hours

Once again we have given the British an ass whoopin. Beat the crap out of them good today. We took out 50 of there feared tanks along with 48 of there artty. They also lost 1979 men dam near 2000 men to us today. Our guys were tough as nails today. Never gave an inch and kept the pressure on the British alll day. Several of our groups today got elite status from all the good work they have been doin lately. Our losses in comparison although slight were still too many. We lost 155 men along with 12 of our tanks. Also lost 3 of our planes which we do not have a whole lot of. All in all a very good day. Rommel even took the time to stop by and tell us what a great job we did today.

Our orders have already arrived and we are to move NE to Mechili by next month and prepare to assault there defenses there. Mechili is about 100 miles SW of tobruk and we need to open up a lane of sorts so we can put more presssure on Tobruk. Rommel has been talking alot about Tobruk I believe it is a big thorn in his side of late.

We will be ready to take Mechili next month. Our guys are up and really primed to whip the heck out of the British once again.
