Mining your own ports

Post by wga8888 »

If a ML in pearl be put in a minelaying mission and ordered to Pearl, will it lay mines in the port?

Java starts with some ML, they start with mines on board. However they have no port to reload and some have very short range to actually travel very far.

Yes it will be termed a "defensive minefield". You can always augment your own minefields.

Do forget that you must set the TF to Lay Mines or they won't do it.

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

I never thought to look under the mission to 'lay mines'; five months of pointless activity. Thanks

I looked and did not find a setting for Lay mines other than Set Mission to Mine Warfare. I am using WITP not AE, should there be a difference.

You'll find the option to lay mine / not to lay mines on the TF screen in the centre (below the picture). its same place as the unload / do not unload option on a transport TF. Happy mining.

All you need to do is form the TF undock it, set the base as the destination and hit the button to lay mines and they'll do it.

thanks,. I found the:
laymine/not lay mine
speed control [cruise/mission/full]
auto disband/ do not autodisband
refuel ok/do not refuel
Patrol do not retire/retirement allowed.

never notices this before after many turns of play; was ussing the mission settings on teh far right column.
