Want to try Empires Ablaze

Post by kfmiller41 »

Well i finally decided to download this mod, and it does look like a different animal from the basic game. I would like to play until AE comes out and figure this mod will help me. Can play either side, but Japan will take some work as things are more complicated now. Have experience with CHS and Japan and will play either side. House rules we can discuss.[&o]

This mod is certainly a roller coaster ride - very challenging IMO... maybe the most challenging economic setup of all the mods in terms of HI and output requirements. I haven't looked at the latest version as I am still embroiled in an earlier release - just don't expect to get it all (if playing Japan).

But if you can harness the machine there are great assets ready to be unleashed!

Good Luck & I hope someone takes up the challenge.

The more I look the more I get scared[:'(] I never took economics and now you can expand industry far more than you could before, and you need to to feed the machine you can build. It is alot to handle but just seeing the Yamato as a carrie[X(]r and having CLAAs that look like Death Stars to planes makes it fun[:D]Don't think I can use WIPT Tacker for this mod but if I can I will

Believe me Tracker is essential for this mod ... there is a cluster file included.

By the end of this game you should be given a diploma in WITP economics -[:D] although I always thought that the time spent thinking and discussing this game should allow honorary gaming doctorates for the veterans [;)]

BTW all the extra stuff is great [;)]

If you get an opponent and do an AAR I'll be sure to look in and give some pointers.

Cheers

Thanks, I am only hoping my opponent is not Nemo, just read his AAR and he is way to good for his own good[:D]
I assume the latest version of Tracker is compatible with this mod.

Damian will tell you that the first turn for Japan is extremely important. You get over 10,000 Political Points and have some LCU in Japan to spend them on. Spend them wisely. Tracker is a "must" if you going to play as Japan.

I'd be willing to give a hort "brief in" to both sides if BOTH players agree...

The reason for this is that there are a LOT of options etc in EA and also some outright traps which I put in to catch the unwary.

The whole goal behind EA was to reward really good players more than in stock but ALSO to absolutely punish poor play more than in stock. Japanese players can VERY easily shatter their entire economy within the first year. If it doesn't shatter though then that Japanese economy can become much stronger than it ever was in stock.

In addition there is no CV respawning for the Allies BUT they get 4 more Essex class CVs and also begin getting them about 6 months earlier. That helps a lot.
John Dillworth: "I had GreyJoy check my spelling and he said it was fine."
Well, that's that settled then.

I have no problem with nemo helping out a bit. I have played japan in stock several times and never gotten past oct 42 due things happening with opponents. So i am unsure if my economy was in good shape or bad and I also have habits that i will need to breakf or this game and AE.
