Corps are stronger (aprox 3 times stronger then divisions) and slower (usually they have 1 AP less). They also uses more SMP and ST  when a player want to transport a unit (redeploy or transport oversea). Divisions are best to use them as fast units meant to encircle and gain area. Corps are heavy breakthrough units best to use in  “Schwerpunkt”.

I think it was written in developers note not in the manual.

Well, while we're at it, let me ask you something that has puzzled me ever since I first bought RtV.

I remember, long ago, reading a review of a boardgame. The reviewer was mostly positive, but then he added something like "In all games, even really good ones, there's always one rule strait from hell". I can't remember was it was all about, but in RtV/ToW, if we were to try finding something emanating from that place, it must be air divisions/air armies! I just can't figure that one out. Instead of having fighters/tactical/heavy bombers, which could have made some sense, we have air divisions/air armies/heavy bombers.

Why didn't you just leave air divisions out? Had it something to do with the AI's handling of minor countries or what? [:)]

In fact we never considered leaving them out as dumping them would be too costly in proportion to possible benefits. Sometimes is easier to let something redundant to persist and focus on something useful. For example it is better to introduce air recon then to remove air divisions.

Actually I meant why didn't you leave them out in the first place, in RtV. They're nothing than air armies with limitation in number of steps. Never mind.

There's one great opportunity inherent in the air divisions, though. Now when they're already in the game, you have the possibility to convert them in cost and ability to regular fighters, possible without messing up other things. [:)]

Oh blast! The AI. [:(]
