ANIMATION

Post by wegman58 »

I really enjoyed the original Buzz Aldrin Race Into Space - and it used a lot of (grainy) real footage. Why no real footage in this game? I imagine NASA has enough public domain stuff to cover a LOT of the NASA side. On Wikipedia and some other things I see statements that basically say if it is the Government's it is public domain after X years (and I imagine X is long past).

And are some of the sound files ('You are go for seven orbits') the real thing? I hope so, I launched one mission and it was the wrong booster (and I flew the mission with the historical booster).

I agree I'm not sure why they decided to use a big budget on animation staff as opposed to using open source video. Maybe they thought it would look outdated, or that there simply isnt good footage for most of the missions and potential future/ahistoric ones?? eitherway I agree with you but I really enjoy this games animations.
