Some Artifact Bugs

Two of the artifacts I like to find are the "Double maximum weapon shots" and the "Two shots per turn" artifacts. But I'm starting to see some problems with these two artifacts. One thing I like to do is activate both on a world. But so far I have yet to see both of these work in a cumulative sense. I have used the double maximum weapon shots on my homeworld and when I build interstellar standoffs on my homeworld I get two shots instead of one. :eek: I've tried many times to activate them on other worlds and they do not produce the same doubling effect that they do on my homeworld. I have also noticed that when both are activated on my homeworld I don't get more than two shots ever. I would think I'd see 3 shots at least and possibly 4 so it seems like these two artifacts are mutually exclusive. I've activated the two shots per turn on my homeworld without the double maximum weapon shots but it didn't double my interstellar weapon shots. If that is the case then the program should not allow both artifacts to be activated on the same world/ship. If one is active the other should show inactive if it won't work in conjunction cumulatively with the first. Either that or something is messed up with these artifacts and I suspect something is. Why does the double maximum shots work on my homeworld but not on any other worlds? Why aren't the double maximum weapon shots and the two shots per turn artifacts cumulative, or if not mutually exclusive? Does the two shots per turn artifact work on worlds and if so does it also work with interstellar weapons?

The other artifact problem is the "Instant best drive" artifact. It can be activated on a world when it has no effect whatsoever for that world. I remember complaining that my world governor built two transwarp drives on my homeworld one game, but now I see that what really happened was that the program automatically activated two instant best drive artifacts on my homeworld. What a waste! The instant best drive artifacts should never, ever be available for activation on a world and Andrew needs to correct this bug so that when a player has artifacts auto controlled he doesn't have to worry that some instant best drives he's left on his worlds get activated and wasted by the auto routine the way mine did once. Hasn't happened to me since since I manually control my artifacts. :p
