How does the read and pass coverage comand points work

I want to know this as well. From what I have seen on a pass play the read command is almost like a zone coverage command, at least for the LB or safety.

I notice this awell. Maybe the Read and Zone are similar to each other except one covers the pass better and one covers the run better? Just a theory.

I did notice if you choose to read and then Move to next point and then move into pass coverage (zone or man), the LBs and secondary will just drop straight back until they see run or pass regardless of if you want them to go Cover 3 or 2; Therefore, I think you have to move your defense into their cover 3 positions first and then tell them to read the O or go into pass coverage. Just a guess tho.....
