My First Play With Forward Motion

Post by therhino »

After playing MaxFB for while I finaly created a play with forwar motion that works pretty well. When the AI runs this play normally the QB runs into the HB until he is tackled. I fixed the play, but also edited it so it looked like an AFL play. Here are some pics of the first time I passed the ball with the new play. As you can see from the pic the motion receiver has a good head start. Now when the play is run the QB and RB don't run into each other. I may attempt an entire AFL playbook, but now just glad to have fixed the glitch. I also didn't know you could have a receiver crossing the los at the same time as you snap the ball. I know it's not much, but it is big for me since I like watching the AFL.

Pic 2 as you can see the motion receiver has a nice jump off the los.

Pic 3 As you can the motion screws up the D so it's an easy TD.

It's working pretty good so I need to make a couple of D plays to defend the motion. Motion is the main problem and the fact that the WR is getting a jump on the DB. Every time the defense plays m2m the receiver is so far ahead of the DB that as long as the throw is alright it's a TD. Unfortunatly I am auful at making defensive plays, but I guesIcan try.

No worries Rhino, I'm the other way around
not so good on offense but Defence is my thing,

gotta have the players to fit my defence aswell though, big strong smashmouth type guys, Kinda like the Jaguars
which figures as Jaguars is my Favorite team.

I have made a new formation and about a dozen plays with most have forward motion. Maximum Football has often had low scoring indoor games compared to the AFL, but the forward motion and new formation has added about two TD a game.

The stock playbook for the indoor game will usually give low scores. As soon as I started creating my own playbooks for the 8 man game, the scores jumped big.

Well maybe the stock playbook is pretty good then, at least on D
I'd rather have a low scoring game, DEFENCE DEFENCE DEFENCE

I normally like lower scorng too, but in the AFL each team often has 50 points per game so the higher te better and Gary have you uploaded your indoor playbooks?
