12 man playbook (WIP)

Post by DAWUSS »

OK, I wasn't all that happy with the current variety with the 12 man playbooks (all of them were the "base set" - 2 WR 2 SB 2 RB), so I began working on additional formation packages. One of them is the 3 WR 2 SB 1 RB Shotgun set, another is the 5 WR 1 RB set, a third is the 6 WR Shotgun set, and another is the 4 WR 1 SB 1 RB set. I added another formation, a 2 WR 2 SB 2 RB set, for lack of a better name (and knowing if there was one) I labeled it the Saskatchewan Uzi (we have the Shotgun and Nevada Pistol, so why not another formation named after a weapon).

I made most of the plays, although a couple came from other video games, and a couple were transferred from 11 man playbooks. I didn't make the defensive playbooks at all (I'm an offensive-minded individual, so I just took a few of the standard defensive plays just to have some sort of defense available)

It's a WIP, but it is a little something to get started with.

Thanks DAWUSS, looking forward to trying it out. Lack of playbooks is all that keeps me from playing 12 man ball.

Can't wait - the Playbook we use for MBCFL is getting a bit stale and it doesn't watch all that well sometimes.

Offense without defence to match up wont work IMO
you'll see alot of bad mis-matches and huge scoring plays
especially if you've used the default 12 man defence - cos it stinks

but hey, not knocking anyone who's prepared to make plays for canadian football
maybe (if I ever find the time) I'll do the D for ya plays.......... but dont hold ya breath... Im well busy already
you never know we could end up with a really good playbook, D is my thing
although I dont know why, I played Wide out in the BAFL [:'(]

Mykal, I really don't know much about Canadian football strategy but I'm willing to learn. Are there any 12 man football strategy guides out there. I checked on google and I didn't find much. Maybe If I find out more I could help you out?

Both need updating.

I agree, and I have stated so many times.  None of those plays are mine. :)

There are other things wrong with the Canadian playbooks as well, like illegal plays, but I'm updating them, so they will be legal.

I'm kinda just learning myself Bro,
I played in the BAFL, which is american rules and have followed the NFL since about 1982
I only discovered the CFL about 3 years ago and my exposure to it has been very limited
CFL isnt anywhere as near world wide as the NFL, so the learning is far harder
then even when you do get a chance to watch a game (cos I have watched a few)
its played at such a pace its very difficult to work out any kind of stratagy
especially when your so used to american rules football.

I get the basics but wouldnt even attempt to try teaching it to anyone..... the almost blind leading the blind.
the best one to ask about that would be IMO VCFL Commish, I learned a good bit from Him
the guy is a wealth of knowledge on Canadian rules football.

I've been into the NFL since about late 2000 (NFL QB Club 2001), and MFB was what introduced me (and got me into) the CFL.

I've listened to some games on the internet (team's radio affiliates), but the only visual exposure I've had of CFL football is MFB (highlights really don't count). Now, obviously, I'm not as familiar with 12 man football as I am with 11, so I drew heavily on 11 man plays, and I used some of the default plays as a reference guide once or twice.

It was actually kinda fun working with CFL rules
