Historically correct parks!

Post by puresimmer »

Nice new feature coming in the next release:

Here is the description from the readme:

NEW! - When playing historical leagues PureSim automatically assigns the historically correct park/dimensions/fence ht/altitude at league creation time. Thanks to Steven Lucey (CrashDavis) for compiling the data! Coding it in only took 90 minutes, I can't imagine how much time he spent compiling it!

Awesome! It doesnt take very long in game to set the stadiums, but it certainly was a tedious thing to do when setting up new leagues. Thanks for this

Thanks for incorporating this, Shaun. Hopefully, the correct region settings will also show on the front office page. This will make historical template setups much easier.

Two questions: does this mean that in a career league, we will have the Boston Braves automatically relocating to Milwaukee in 1953? Will this also automatically rearrange the team slots so historical Retrosheet schedules can continue to be used?

Does this also mean that members of the 1901 St. Louis Cardinals won't have hit 15 bombs by midseason?

Not sure if you were just trolling, but the numbers should be pretty good. I just simmed 1901 and here is St. Louis' batting stats for the season:

Nope, no trolling here. [:)] I had done a season using 1.76b starting in 1901, and I was getting some really out of whack dinger numbers for St. Louis. Turns out that they had a stadium with dimensions that were not consistent with 1901.

No, this still has to be done manually, but relocations can now be done in PureSim. For relocations: Go to Team Front office (during the year you want to move the team) anytime between FA period and before Spring Training, Set the region, change the team city name, and enter the teams new team abbrev.
Will this also automatically rearrange the team slots so historical Retrosheet schedules can continue to be used?
Slots are irrevelant. When you set the team abbrev above, that will cause PureSim to autodetect the Retro schedule after Spring Training and continue using them.

I just had to kill an association that started in 1901 in 1.82 because Cincinnati's stadium had to have had a bizarre stadium configuration. I was somewhere in the vicinity of 2/3 of the way through the season and Cincinnati players had hit anywhere from 30-58 homers. I'm now checking every stadium as the association starts. My next question is will stadiums automatically adjust depending on era as I advance or will I have to manually edit them?

Thanks, Crash. This solves the 1953-60 issues on team relocations and using historical schedules. [&o]
