Post by erkjhnssn »

Hello
I got Gary Grigbys world at war (bought it of course)
Installed the latest patch. (1.1202)

Ensure that your system meets the minimum system requirements:
OS: Windows 2000, XP Got XP
Processor: 800 Mhz (2 GHz Recommended) I have 2.8 ghz
RAM: 512 MB (1 GB Recommended) Got 1 GB
Video card: 32 MB or greater (128 MB Recommended) Got 128
Sound Card: 16 bit DirectX 9 compatible. Dont know what i have but that dont make any diffrent(?)

I have a "radeon x300 se" graphic card. Havent updatet it. Cant find any updates.
Got the latest DirectX
I have closed every other programs and processes
Have selected the "low graphic" option in the game

Still its slow... anyone?

Do you have your virtual memory set to be at least 1500 MB? Is it the map scroll that is slow? If so, have you tried adjusting the map scroll preference item? Updating the video card drivers would probably help although you said you can't find any updates. You should post a dxdiag report for your computer.

The slowness har this nature:
Sometimes the game freexe for about 3 seconds.
Sometimes when Im gonna push att button it takes a couple seconds before the new "window" pop ups.
The battle animation is extremly slow..

I dont have any problems when scrolling the map

Virtual memory
In system -> advanced the virtual memory is set to 1536

I have post the similuar question in another forum. One thought it to be my graphic card.. because it rather old

Where's the info on your graphics card? I don't see it in your post. How old are the drivers?

Since your video driver seems to be up to date, I don't know what else to look for. Some people have had problems with 3rd party codecs that have been put on their system without their knowledge. I don't know where to look for these in the dxdiag report and usually these have caused games to crash, not play slowly. I'm not sure what to tell you at this point other than to suggest you play without the combat animations. I wish I had a better answer for you.
