Dont take forever

Post by Scott_WAR »

Technical problems are one thing, but if you start a PBEM game, and say you will do at least a turn a day, then please try and live up to that claim.

Right now I have several PBEM games going.
In ONLY 2 of them have I been receiving a turn to do each day.
This is really sad, if you cant or refuse do AT LEAST a turn a day, then PLEASE TELL YOUR OPPONENTS. There is nothing worse than waiting 3 days for a turn that takes 15 minutes at the very most to do.

Whoever said this game is isnt suitable for TCP/IP because the turns take too long must move at the speed of a snail.

This is the main reason many people hate PBEM, people who take 3 days or more to do one turn.

I agree, though at least one player (schury) has been doing a great job and he's nearly 12 hours different than me!

it would be nice if there was a form of rating system or repository of names. I still think PBEM is the best system for this game, but it would be nice to have a consistant game experience, as you do with a RTS.

As time passes ladder will start up, so you will be able to get games from serious players. Also we will also get to know through experience who is good at doing their turns in a timely manner and who isnt.

Yes the continuity of the game goes to crap when you dont get a turn for 2 or 3 days.

Argh.

Where ARE our turns? (2 games going - both been over 48 hours)

I always have one turn out every 12-24 hours.
