Quick Question on Supply Lines

Post by JayTac »

Once supply lines are cut and transports suffer full casualties does that then mean that the cut-off unit has completely lost the ability to resupply for good? Meaning even if they regain control of their lines if it's after their supply convoy suffers 100% casualities then they no longer have a means of resupply?

No it just means that the supply run sent to that unit was wiped out. This does not prevent the Depot from sending another supply run to that unit. ( But it may suffer a similar fate. [:)] Actually the Depot will hold off sending a supply run if it looks dangerous. )

Awesome, I'm a new player so I'm still learning the different ins and outs of the game. But, I do appreciate the fact that I don't have to spend hours learning the interface of the game, instead I'm spending hours perfecting actual strategy. So, that's cool.

Also, one more question if you don't mind.. I was playing a scenario earlier today in which I gave a recce unit a probe order before starting the clock. About ~15 minutes (Real Time) in the unit never made it to his probe waypoint. Instead it would move halfway there then for some odd reason it'd start going back in the opposite direction, back towards its' starting point. Then it'd start moving for the WP again, then move back before reaching it. It just went back and forth the entire time and they were not retreating or being fired upon. Any reason for this or was that a glitch?

JayTac,

Welcome.

That behaviour with the recce unit doesn't sound right. When you select the unit did its route loop around and around? Did you specify an FUP for the attack? Can you get this to repeat? Do you have a saved game taken just before it occurs?

I didn't have an FUP setup in that circumstance so maybe that contributed to it. I haven't had this issue remerge though so maybe it was just some freak occurence or I did something wrong and didn't notice.
