Day Four – 00h00

At midnight on the start of day four of the operation, I send the following message to Field Marshal Montgomery: “I thereby announce that I have achieved and secured the 5 objectives of the operation assigned to the 7th Armoured Division. Although there is sporadic enemy fire around Heartbreak Ridge and Ede, the 7th Armoured has a firm hold on all objectives. Awaiting further orders.”

Day Four – 12h00

The operation completes with a Decisive Victory over the Germans ! Apart from half-hearted attacks on Reemst Veld that were easily pushed back with arty, the last 12 hours of this operation were very quiet.

Yes I second that. Very nice AAR. [:)]

For your next game I'd recommend you crank up the difficulty settings a notch. Don't you think?!! [;)]

Thanks all !

I was somewhat surprised by the decisive victory I have achieved. The Germans could have defended and hold into Ede, judging by all the German formations that remain around Ede. And if the AI would have mounted a serious attack against Reemst Veld, this would have screwed my plans.

I was playing with painfully realistic delays but with normal reinforcement and supply schedules. Next time I will try unfavourable reinforcements and supply.
