Scenarios can be altered with the game editor and a lot of work has been done to provide revised map and unit graphics to get the game into its present state.

A utility called WIRHack, allows the main parameters of the game to be changed (West/Med Front, Allied Bombing, etc..)

This site carries some of the mods available warinrussia.davewolf.de

The older posts in the Forum note work by Flanker and Possum providing mods. [:)]

I depends on what you want to mod, but tank and unit modding work has been done by Flanker Leader, among others, so yes it is possible.

Flanker Leader has all the editing tools and has offered to send them to anyone who PMs with an e-mail address.

It would be worth a check through the forum and with the Flanker and Possum mods, because you might find the work you are interested in has already been done.

I have not edited units, but have used the map editor to alter the rail net (so that there is not an immediate Soviet supply collapse east of Moscow, if that city falls) and to adjust the map and unit graphics a little. The first SS in this post shows how you can add the rail and towns north of Moscow, which did exist.

These editing tools are as old as the original game and the map and unit icon editing is quite laborious, this is old tech stuff, but you can see what can be achieved.

The game has been around for a long time and a lot of work has been done, Flanker Leader could give better advice. [:)]

I'm thinking about making a WW1-style war with land navies mod. The action would happen on Mars based on sci-fi of 20s.
