Hi,

Outstanding. The Starshatter community could have greatly benefitted from such tutorials all along. [:)]

Yes,

Very nice. I'm really anticipating explaination of the more mysterious (black?) aspects of Magic.

Just one little thing: a cube actually has 6 sides (faces) No sweat.

The cube thing fixed.

Glad everyone likes it. I'll work on some more as time permits; and I do plan on getting into the diffrent aspects of magic later on.

Pheagey,

If you're interested, I still have the old tutorials I did for the original SSC before the site got changed over. They're Word docs and might be easier for folks to use if they are on dial-up (like me.) I would be happy to email them to you. Your stuff is way slick compared to mine, but the info is basically the same.

Nice tutorial, What program did you use to make it? I had used Wink to create the accutrans tutorial I made for converting wrl file to 3ds for magic.

Ok, did everyone like the way I did the tutorial?
Im going to stick with the software I used but now for the next question:

Should it be the way i have it now? Or should be it be more or a class lesson w/ a quiz at the end, or even an interactive presentation of each point covered in each tutorial. I need ideas for presentation types...thanks...

Well,

I always like tutorials that end up making something of use. I know its a lot more work, but it seems a finished tutorial object lets you see the relationships between the tools better than just a set of disconnected explanations. IMHO [:D]

Pheagey,

I like the psuedo-interactive look. I wish I could have done that with mine. I agree with 2Harry that a tut that ends up with something like a useable ship would work best. I would even be willing to do a follow-on that takes your end product and I would do the deffing as a tutorial to give somebody a working ship at the end of it all.

Thanks Dragonlead. Im comming up with a plan to have a more interactive tutoriasl once I get into deeper poly editing. But for now here's another one for everyone to scope out and give me feedback on.

Click here for a tutorial on Magic's Edit Menu and a little bit of poly editing.

Looks good. There were a few times where the text boxes opened onto a white screen, but I'm using dial-up and it might just be a slow connection.

One more thing...what version of Magic do you have? The function you don't know in the tut is listed as "seal selection" on my version. They could do similar things.

@Dragonlead:Nope, you are correct, some of the slides are blank..I'll have to fix that when I get home. Thanks for finding that....edit: or..herm... maybe its 'cause they are nto loading at the preload screen. I ran thru it again and they all showed up....odd...

Im using M1.6 for these tutorials since it provides the most editing options atm. I'll do another on M2.0 once I get M1.6 covered enof.
Im crossing my fingers that the next magic version will be avaliable soon. i.e M2+editing options...milo, hint hint...
