In the future will there be a commnad that allows the infantry to dig in during the battle instead of having them pre-dug in or taking enemy foxholes that they had in the beginning of the battle. Say if you just captured a hill overlooking a town that has an objective in it and you know that your opponent will counterattack as soon as he mustered enough forces for it,so you tell your men to dig in on the hill and await the attack which does come and is easy to beat off due to the fact you got your guys dug in in time. It would take about one turns worth to get your guys dug in but is worth it as long as your not attacked while in the process.
Is there be a tank follow&support infantry option and infantry support tank option? It could really help with telling which units to go where.
Will trenches look like trenches? If there are any. And the same for pillboxes and gun implacements? And if dug in how will they look? Better than CM's hopefully(not bashing but hoping that if they are in the game they look better). And if gun implacements are dug-in will there be a camoflouged look to them too?
I just finished reading a book called "Armor Battles of the Waffen-SS 1946-45" and in the book the tankers(its done from interviews from the tank crews, really good read) mention several times how after being hit and forced to bail from their tanks that they climb right back in and start the engine and continue the fight or how they fix a busted up track in mere seconds while under fire. In some cases the crew bails after their tank is set on fire and they start heading back until they stumble upon another knocked out tank, they go inside and try the engine which usually worked or fixed the track and then drove off in the tank that they just found(that was theirs of course)! Other times the mention how they kill the crew of an Pak with their mgs and soon keep driving off enemy soldiers who keep wanting to use the gun against them. Here are several questions I came up with, 1) if a tank gets knocked out but not set of fire and most of the crew survives, will it be able to re-man the tank? 2) If a tank is knocked out the crew bails and is killed or captured, another crew from another tank can possibly hop in and continue the fight(that would be really cool)? 3) If a crew of a pak abandones their gun but later return to the gun(if possible), with the be able to re-man it and fire on the enemy? Same goes for bunkers and small caliber gun and maybe mortars?
Was there ever a thought of adding a vehicle repair unit? It could be a costly unit if lost but worth it since it could repair any tanks and fighting vehicle that were not too badly damaged during the fighting. It could also give them extra ammunition if needed. It also has the capabilities of dragging other vehicles,if they get stuck anywhere or are immoobile from enemy fire, to protected areas where they can get fixed and replenished and put back in the line. Knowing that you have played CM, dont you just hate it when that Tiger gets bogged down in a marsh or blows its track in a extremely helpless spot where its chances of helping in the battle are useless, and there is nothing you can do about it! Or how about tanks draging other tanks into more favorable firing positions or out of the field of fire so it could be repaired and both tanks using their MGs and main guns to fend off the enemy(got that from the book too not made up).
How will quick battles play out(like what CM has, I dont play many of the scenarios because they intimidate me and also I am getting used to it still). And also that great PBEM system that you guys keep mentioning? I cant get a damn game started in CM. Will it be run through the game some how? It would be nice to see the exact details on how this will work because Im trying to start my 3rd game and cant even find the turn the guy sent me[:(].
Also how will infantry assualting tanks and other vehicles work? Will there be an animation of them climbing the tank and dropping nades inside or the crew pop out and use small arms and grenades to pin them down or drive them off? And there has been no mention of hand-to-hand combat and the mechanics of that, and will it actually look they are in h2h or just sitting there?
And I cant seem to get the video-beta you put out to work on my mwp[&:]
P.S. This smiley is really cool

Sorry for any misspellings and repeated stuff(takes too long to read through everything!)
