1.2.18 erratic fleet production for Sweden

Post by DonOlms »

I had to quit playing Sweden in the 1805 campaign, because the AI ruined my economy.
Without active advisors the AI continously started to build fleets in Sveaborg.
I found myself unable to

1) stop the ongoing builds
2) destroy the empty fleets afterwards

After having 8 empty fleets each consuming 15 money for upkeep and 2 in the build pipeline
I have stopped playing...

There's been one report like this before. Do you have a save game in which this is happening? I've been unable to duplicate it.

I am currently having the same problem with Sweden in an 1805 campaign. The AI suddenly started building Fleets for no apparent reason and it wont stop. In addition I have some other problems I have run into. I am using the 1.2.18 version, and in some provinces I have an entire army simply dissapear. I can see the army if i inspect the province but I cant give it orders and it does not appear on the map, is there any way of gettting them out? other then waiting for a battle nearby that i can call them as reinforcements for? In addition why do enemy forces sometimes get to retreat forward? For example early on I defeated the Danes in Copenhagen so they retreated into Sweden and took out my depot. It seems to me that it would make more sense for a defeated enemy to retreat towards its own territory. I am enjoying this game a great deal and other then these small bugs find it very playable.

Don't let advisors take care of your economy...they'll ruin it. To avoid the retreat-forwards, put a division or another force behind your main army...even a division of militia will suffice.

Sorry when I said the AI was building fleets I did not mean an advisor, I do not in fact have the advisor on, I meant that the program was building fleets with out instructions from me. Thanks for the advice on the retreating forward though that will come in handy.

We still need to be able to disband container units, EB.

I think so as well, we must be able to disband container units.
