CPU vs CPU game.

The good:

1. Speed up clock feature - Knocks off about 8-seconds is great. Thank you.[&o]

2. Punt / kick returns longer than 2 yards! Still needs improvement, but this is moving in the right direction.

3. Sacks / Incomplete "bug" seems to be fixed.

4. Running game greatly improved. (hope this holds for simmed games also)

5. I know it was there in earlier releases, but I saw my first fumble recovery. (off of a sack. it was pretty cool.)

6. Second half kick off worked correctly.

The Bad:

1. Game outside. Opening said Inside and 20C.

2. Pass completion rate still stinks. (But this might be plays instead of game)

3. Punters still on Bonds Juice. 60+ yards every time.

4. Kickers lare limp ankled weenies. kickoffs shorter than punts.

5. Still more sacks than you would expect.

6. At 2 minute warning, the 8-9 seconds taken off (mentioned above) were taken off so the play started at 1:52 left. <- (This only happened in the first half. The second half worked as expected.)

7. No penalties in 1/2 game of play so far.

8. punt stat yardage shows 00.

Overall:

I am happy that this is moving in the right direction. [:)]

Anybody who writes this game off at this point is being foolish.

I'll post more of what I see in the 2nd half later.

Hi.

Were these CPU vs CPU games or was there a human player involved?

I'm going to talk to Erik to see if I can get a Public BETA section set up. What you're reporting, while valuable to me, is not really support releated because these are still BETA builds and should be considered as such.

Also, I noticed that on the high resolution stadium, the fans are not rendering properly. I've seen this only on video cards that have 64MB of ram or lower, or they share video memory with onboard memory. Am I correct in assuming this is the case with your system?

David,

CPU vs CPU. 1 game.

Yes. The video card on the laptop (which this game was played) is exactly as you said. 64mb shared.

So.... what does that mean? The notice of the update by Erik was in the support forum and asked for feedback. I posted feedback in the support forum. Was I wrong? Does it mean that what I have reported is less important because it's a beta build on a machine that has an onboard video card?

I don't get it. I was reporting on the good and bad that I have seen. In the place where others have been discussing it also.

Gimme a break. [8|] I spent my $40, I've supported the game, etc. How about a "thanks for reporting" or " good point, I'll check that out" or anything that addresses the issues for that matter.

I know you are under a lot a pressure but, ....... damn.

David,

I also have the 1.0.0.101 build. I don't know if these have been reported or not.

1) Running a (Sim) at the finish of a CPU vs CPU game that (Play) causes the play clock not to start and the game runs forever. Only way to get out is to kill the progam through the task manager.

2) During a CPU vs CPU game (Play not Sim) an injury (even for just a few plays) causes the user created depth chart to be changed. After the game, I must go back and redo my depth charts. I think the CPU should make only a temporary change to the ingame depth chart and leave the global depth chart as is.

The following may be considered enhancements and not bugs, but I believe (IMHO) that they should be added:

1) A true depth chart that I can specify not just the starters, but also an order to the backups. There seems to be a start to this in the utility set, but the game seems to ignore it. If i;m incorrect with this observation, then I apologize.

2) I would like to see the game be able to distinguish between cornerbacks and safetys, inside and outside linebackers, defensive ends and tackles, offensive guards, centers and tackles, halfbacks and fullbacks. I like that a DB can be both, RB can be both, DL can be both, etc. And I think a true depth chart where I can say so and so is the MLB backup in case the starter goes down would provide what I'm looking for here.

David,
I totally agree with shaggyra:

David, keep the updates/patches coming.....And thank you shaggyra for hosting the fbmax.com site. I've downloaded close to 100 uniforms and I'm messing around with a 40 team league.

No no,, you miss understand. I would like to set up a section for the public beta releases for the sake of categorization. You've done nothing wrong at all. I would just like to keep things in their proper place. At the moment, this is really the only place to post what you're posting. In hindsite however, there should probably be a separate area for posting these reports to keep everything orgainized.

What you're using now is basically a pre-release build (a beta build). I think the support forum should be for people asking for assistance for what are 'official releases' (which is 1.0.95 at the moment). Do you agree?

And yes, thanks for reporting these things. I know you're doing a lot of work with your website and everything is greatly appriciated.

I'm just trying to organize the forums so I can keep track of what's going on better. That is all. I did not mean to offend.

Shaggyra,

David didn't mean it like that - he simply wants to keep the beta-based reports separate from support requests based on the latest official update. Each are important but it can get confusing sorting out the version-based issues.

I'll set up a sub-forum tomorrow, where reports that are based on a public beta should go. You did nothing wrong.

Shaggy,

David was basically saying, "Thank you for the detailed reports. I should ask Erik to make a section here for great reports like this and other public beta feedback reports that have been posted, so that I don't miss them."

At least you can say your guy has the stats to show he sacked the guy into orbit! Ka-boom!

David,

I would like to offer my fullest, deepest, sincerest apology. I mis-read and reacted before I thought. I was wrong.

I think the idea a seperate section on the forum is fantastic. I would be a lot easier for all of us to keep track and to keep a positive dialogue going on both official supported releases and un-official beta releases.

I hope you can tell I truely have a passion for the game you have created. And please believe me, I mean that as the highest compliment.
