Sim first year league

Post by Lions »

Hi,

I wanted to show you the first year standings in the Western Division and Eastern Division teams.

I used pro settings and the CPU played all the games.

So here are the screen shots...

I Had this problem the first time I ran a league with me playing one team. I simmed all the weeks games at once, intead of one at a time, and they all ended in ties. NOW, I sim them one at a time, and I havent seen the problem again.

The issue does need to be fixed, but this is a work around for now. At least I hope it works for you too.

With all the problems with the SIM engine, I think I'm just going to actually Play out the games one by one. Its more realistic for me that way and avoids a lot of the SIM bugs.

Magnum357,

So you think it's a sim bug. Well I don't know if this is a factor to play one by one. In that case I shall experience with one by one and see how this will turn out. Are you going to control one team using mouse and game pad vs CPU each week?

Scott_War,

So in year 2 (season 2) the problem will be corrected?

I just let all the games play out for now, hopefully when or if Dave adds the slower sim system alot of this stuff will be fixed since thegames will played out without the graphics.

I havent made it through a full season yet, but I guess I could test it with a different league. But its working so far in season one, but that doesnt answer your question about the players vanishing.

Ok, reading the other thread, it seems we are on different pages.

The games ending in ties, only happened to me, when I simmed more than just one game. As long as I simmed each game individually it didnt usually end in a tie. this is for the season I am playing, which is in season one. I think its a bug with simming more than one game at a time, but I am going to check right now to make sure.

I havent finished a season yet, so I havent seen if the players remained or not. I will check that also. Going to try it now.

This is a problem that I reported in another thread. I started a stock league using Canadian rules, used stock plays and stock play books. All games, draft and training camp was run by the computer vs computer. The first time I simmed the first 4 weeks one week at a time and all went well. I then simmed the rest of the season at once. As I sat here watching I could see that while some plays were being recorded all the remaining games were ties (0-0). The next time I tried it I simmed the entire season at one time. The first week ran fine, but after that all scores were again 0-0. The standing look just like those posted above.

It seems that the sim works game at a time or week at a time, but not a season at a time.

Ok, I used the default US league, with the default 11 man rules.

I simmed one game, worked ok.
I simmed the rest of the week, worked ok.
I simmed the season, and let it run till week 4 before I shut the program down. Everything was fine.

So, either its a random happening bug, which I doubt, or it has something to do with the rules or setup of the league, making the sim function not work as expected.

When I saw the issue, it was with a custom league, using the default 11 man US rules, but using a 10 minute per quarter clock. I simmed one game, it went well, then I played my game for the week, then simmed the rest of the week, thats when every remainig team got ties for that week.

I would recommend trying default rules, see if it works for you, then change things slowly till you see it start to happen.
