Great report Vance. I haven't played the scenario yet but as you mentioned I know the map from "Tanks at Platamon" (which I didn't finish yet). Tough terrain for the attacker.

Hi Chelco,

Yes the ridge is good defensable terrain and therefore tough for the attacker. But as the attacker you know where the positions of the defender will be, and you can focus your attack on that. After the attacker has passed the ridge it is difficult for the defender to set up a second line of defence.

I am playing with the idea to play this scenario as the allies and try to hold the high road and Poroi and luring the germans to Derbina. Then when the reinforcements arrive, bag the germans by blocking the ridge passages and annihilate the german in the pocket.

Funny enough this is the only game I think where I havent backtracked at somepoint. I think the way the engine plays out its quite impossible backtrack unless you go way, way back, especially if you have it one of the higher order delays.

Wodin, what do you mean with backtracking? You mean as a player restoring saved games, or as commander retreating? Or something else?
