Oh Good God! Pasternakski, you owe me a dinner for the one I just upchucked all over my keyboard.

Hmmm, must be nearly football season.

I see Point after Touchdown, Left Safety and Left Cornerback abreviations on the top right of the screen.

Do you have any idea when you are going to release this upgrade?

I am holding off on starting a new game until it is released.

To date, we (Joe and Don) have not changed the data values in the data base.  We have only changed the code, i.e. the EXE file.  This is because we did NOT want to force players to restart to gain advantage of the changes we have made.  And there were enough hi-value items to change just in the code alone.  I can also say that the current patch we are working on, also is an "EXE ONLY" patch, i.e. we are not changing data values.  I do suspect that one day we will do a patch that updates data values and we will provide warning in advance of that.  In fact, I'm pretty sure that patch AFTER the patch we are working on now, will at least consider changing some data values.  The one at the top of this list actually is leaders.  Some leaders in the stock database are true duplicates, i.e. exactly the same leader (by slot #) is assigned to more than one unit.  This is causing a remaining set of "leader bugs" when one of the units using the duplicate leader is destroyed, the leader is removed and the other unit now has good ole W/O [0/0] as its leader.  We haven't fixed this to date because it would require a data value change and  hence a restart, but as I said, it is at the top of our list when we do finally get around the allowing ourselves to change the data values.
So in summary I think it is fair for us to provide warning of impending changes to the data values and none are planned for the patch which is currently being worked on (1.8.0.2) but some are tenatively planned for the next major patch after that (1.9?)  Note that there still might be one or more intermediate patches, 1.8.0.3 etc.  which would not have data value changes.

It'd be useful if the duplicate leaders were also removed and updated scenarios supplied with this patch. Those with ongoing games aren't "forced" to restart: it's their choice to do so or not. However, it seems a shame to force those that will start a new game with the next patch to use scenario files that are known to have a potential leader bug still included.
