BoB questions

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

BoB questions

Post by Jorm »

HI all

1. I have just reinstalled BoB, but it keeps locking up. Does any one know how to get it to work with XP ?

2. Is there a way to edit the aircraft data or perhaps add new a/c to BoB ?

Im very interested to see the effect of
- increased range for the Bf109, ie if they had developed droptanks
- from the dim dark recesses of my fading memory, wasnt there a compeditor aircraft to the Bf109, some heinkel fighter that was not proceeded with due to the 109 winning the contract ?
- what if the Bf110 "destroyer" concept was not followed what affect would that have had
- what if the germans had proceeded wih development of a viable 4-engined bomber in 1939 etc.

very interested in getting BoB working again while i await the matrix version.

cheers
Paul

and then it should work much better

for editing, out of of Hexing, which I know almost nothing about, not sure of any way to work with the old data in the game

for what if's, you may want to try the 41 campaign, you get the 109E-7s with drop tanks and while the 190s are a bit early they also come with tanks

You may be thinking of the He 112, and later on about 12 planes called the He 113 were built, lots of photos and action shots were taken to confuse people, only about 10 were really made into a unit (think to fly around He plants on guard duty) this plane was also later called a He 100D

the "destroyer" concept, is interesting, as almost every nation tried it and even after the 110 failed, they still were trying it, but not sure what you would replace it with, other then more 109s

4 Engines would be a interesting idea, but in the long run (with out opening a large can of worms) it was the fighter lack of range that hurt the GE during the BoB more then the bomb load of the bombers, and really any early GE 4 engine bombers would not of been B-17's, so they still would been at the mercy of the GB fighters

but that has always been a interesting what if, what if the LW General hadn't of died in 36 (I believe it was) who was pushing and supporting the 4 engine plan, which he was out of the picture, Udet and his short range, divebomber and army support plan, gained ground
