hello again, and two questions..

hello again, and two questions..

Post by altmunster »

i loved the original starshatter when it was first released, and played it constantly. but as i played it I noticed 2 big problems (in my opinion)1) there was very little depth to the capital ship sim part and 2)whenever i was in command of a carrier group, half of my fighters would die during docking. the first problem was minor, since ther was so much breadth to the game i could forgive the lack of depth. but the second was a gamekiller.
so, i stopped playing.

That said, my 2 questions are: 1) has the fighter crashing bug been fixed through a pathc? and
2) is 'the gathering storm' more than a graphical overhaul to the original game? or are there substantive functional improvements?

many thanks, and here's to hoping i can finally complete my campaign...

Don't know yet. I believe the frequency of the docking crash was reduced in 4.5 but that it remained a problem. Carrier group warps leaving you alone in system was unresolved.

Increasing the depth of the cap ship game is my first hope. Targeting, manuevering, managment, personnel. The works.

Possible solutions to this: use quantum gates to go sector where carrier is, or wait carrier's return. Note that carrier might attempt return via quantum gate but gate is too small which makes carrier crash on it [:@]
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.
