Some questions!

Post by Stratos_MatrixForum »

Hello, I'm interested in the theme depicted in WPO, but have a couple of questions and a doubt, here we go!

1-A friend of mine told me that the game last a lot ( and when they say a lot should be a LOT ) to pass turn, is that right?? Any way to solve this??

2-You can command all the troops ( and ships ) in the country and totally forget about the echonomy??

3-Someone said that the game is great cause when you're tired with it, you can use as a excelleny database, is that true?? A database is included in the game?? With things like Year of deployment, Class name for ships...

That's it! Thank's for the help!

P.S. I forgot, but is the naval game simulated in the sim?? Or simply I get a result when two forces meet??
-If we have to retreat, where we will retreat sir??
-To graveyard!!

It depends on your attention to detail. The same turn can be done in minutes and in hours.

No, there are still supplies and fuel to consider.

Yup. The database quality is second to none.

Yes it is. Although you can just get the results if you choose to.

Nor sure if I understood your question. Are you asking if it is possible to make orders _during_ the battle - the answer is no. There is no anything similar to tactical naval games like Distant Guns.

All your decision done before the turn resolution. You choose TF type, composition, orders, leaders, moving locations, etc.

Look at the description and screenshots - http://www.matrixgames.com/games/game.asp?gid=326

I think it gives basic ideas how it looks like.

He say that the problem appears when you hit Pass turn, and the cpu starts tons of actions, like plane landings, ships refueling and things like that, all this appear as info on the screen, is not possible to avoid this and simply pass turn after you made your actions and face the next turn in some seconds??

[:)] No, it still needs to process orders and calculate odds. You can greatly reduce turn resolution time by choosing smaller delays/disabling animations/buying faster PC [:D]

I think in WPO turn resolution is fast as a Shuttle ... comparing to WITP [:'(]
