Question about Scenario

Post by gazrang »

Hi~ This is my first posting :)
I orderd My first AA : HTTR a few days ago, and I'm waiting for arriving.
I already read about HTTR review many times, and that made me happy.

There maybe are many scenarios(=operations) in HTTR. Are they(operations) affected by
previous result of battle? or Just independent Operations. I want to know.
Thank you in advance..

RE: Question about Scenario

gazrang,

Welcome to HTTR and the AA community.

Each scenario is independent of the others. However, many have mutiple reinforceement schedules grouped into "standard", "favour axis" and "favour allies" and what some players do to simulate a campaign is choose a setting based on the results of a previous game. Eg they may start as the Allies with the opening assault by 30th Corps on the Belgium border and if this goes badly, then choose the "favour axis" reinforcement option for the next Eindhoven game and so on.

Thanks Arjuna.
I didn't expect "Moderator" would reply to my post. [;)] I'm very pleased.
After reading your reply, I could understand the system of HTTR's each scenarios.
Today I saw the movie - A Bridge Too Far-, and it gave me the cause of playing HTTR [8D]
Happy to have known HTTR, and to be here.

gazrang,

Arjuna is much more than a simple moderator. He is, for this small AA community, acting as spiritual guide, master guru, and incidentally, President of a game company. [;)]

With that said, welcome.
In case you did not do it yet, have a look at the web sites on my sig. You'll find there links and info about the various games in the series including add-ons and articles.

Have fun,

JeF.

Does anyone have opinions or experience with the two user scenario's "7 Roads to Hell" and "In Front of the Oure"?

I played through a couple of days of the "7 roads to Hell" and it was quite good but I haven't finished it yet.  (the germans are really starting to pop up all over)

... I thought I would try these out to get ready for the new "Battle from the Bulge" coming out later this year.

thanks

I playtested "In Front of the Ourthe". Interresting scenarios as the German IIRC. IMHO, US side is less interresting against the AI.
Some good replayability by several reinforcement schedules. The map is nice as well.

I hope this helps,

Hank,

I designed "In front of the Ourthe" for HTTR. It is my very first scenario design during my fledgling days with the AA system so go easy on me [:D]

Seriously though, I'd like to hear your comments.

I have had this game for just over a week now.At first i didnt like it at all,not a fan of real time games. However, now im getting to grips with the system its one of the best games i have ever played.I still have a few mental questions i have to work out for myself but its a stonker of a game.it might be a wee bit better with some more background sounds as the game is running,as opposed to just when units come into contact or fire.

Lol,sort of.I have got to grips with the system now and its a cracking game.I tended to start off following the Tutorials then end up going off on my own to try stuff out.[:D]it just needs a few more games to try a few ideas out on then ill go for the big one with all the bells and whistles with full realism.

A question about the user scenario Bastogne.

I played the game almost all the way through when I realised (Duh!!) the equipment for the american forces are British.

Is this an old version I'm playing?  is there a newer version where the Equipment is American for Americans and British for the Brits?   (Since there are no Brits in this part of the battle ... Brit equipment doesn't apply).  I'm guessing its because you had to use the Estab from MG which didn't have US Army forces except the airborne divisions.

... getting prep'd for BfrB.
