CAG considered as fighters?

Post by Petiloup »

I think I noticed that Carrier Air Group are considered as fighters. Had one Japanese CAG and a bunch of bombers in one place and a lone allied fighters did ditch the CAG as what did look like an air combat. There was some AA in the place and fighters are supposely not good at bombing aircrafts on the ground.

If it's normal then ok but was wondering if CAG shouldn't be more considered as bombers instead of fighters.

Yeah,
CAGS are like fighters (getting them to 8/8 EV/AA is doable in a normal game as any power except China/Russia) but also serve well as bombers/ship killers......
One of the sleeping secrets of this game is the power of CAGs.....the do-all unit.
It is not unlikely that a CAG will perform an air-superiority mission during a game.

If you want to invest in those fine indeed but the issue I think is that investing in fighters and tactical and heavy bombers and cags is not the best way so you need to find your priorities. Heavy are great to knock out infrastructures and fighters are still better than cags at the beginning for air superiority.

Anyway now I know better not leave cags alone if ennemy fighters are on the prowl for victims.
