Combat Leader

Post by PANZERJAEGER188 »

I just the new screen shot for Combat Leader and was curious will the tanks be solid in color (Germans Gray-Russians Brown) or will they be camoflaged? Also wanted you guys to know that I cant wait for it to come out.

I believe that there will be multiple color schemes, e.g. summer/winter verdant/dessert and that they can change as the war progresses and as the armies used different schemes.

There will indeed be mulitple paint schemes for all tanks. A big perk in being a team member here at Matrix is seeing all the great eye candy my co-workers are capable of. :)

Don't let Louis fool you he is one of the best on the team. Most of the terrain has been designed by him. He done a great job.

..and for you artists out there, you will be able to add more!

But you will have to go some to beat the wonders the graphics guys have pulled off!

Ok......now that you have gotten me all hot'n'wet ....how about a few new screen shots showing the multiple color schemes?

Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Here are some examples. Unfortunatley they did not survive the translation to jpg with as much detail as they appear in the game.

Hey, how about that. There's a Tiger with shrubbery and they all have gun rings. I suppose the rings will designate the 4 or 5 experience levels, correct? What's the little red things on both sides of th PZVIB turret, NbW? Will the shrubbery one have something of a stealth bonus in woods?

The white red typing on the turret sides are unit numbers as used by the germans, just a little variation thingy ;)

Man, do they look terrific. The detail is amazing. In this world of bigger is better you guys and other small independent companies are a breath of fresh air. Its a shame that the gaming community as a whole does not give you all the recognition you so richly deserve.

I'm really impressionned by the quality of those first views of tanks in Combat Leader. I think that CL will be a really winning game!

Sorry Charles, the graphics aren't THAT dynamic... Some have alot of kill rings, some don't. There are several thousand icons, multiplying that by 4 or5 to get the kill rings to synch with experience would be a bit difficult...

You will be able to buy "camoflage" for any vehicle that will make it harder to identify, the icons schemes don't have a direct effect on the game. At least not in the early modules.

Paul Vebber: When I first noticed the rings, I thought y'all might be radical enough to do them as they were done in the war, especially considering how they all weren't the same, but considering how there are only two varieties pictured I thought the rings might be applicable to experience level, such as rookie no rings, veteran 2 rings, elite 5 rings and so on, so that if such a thing were wise to do, it would have something of a link to RL WWII, although OTOH, having a ring for each 5 kills might achieve the same thing. I'm sure it's best as it is, but can you imagine the rings we'd see after some of 'heroes' we get every once in a while? Why there would be so many rings the gun would get white, and that just wouldn't do.

I am reminded of the mule who found himself between two troughs of feed and starved to death trying to make up his mind.

What am I going to do? UV, CL, Napoleonics (not to forget SPWaW etc) I think I might have to buy 2 more computers and dedicated phone lines. Then arrange three monitors around my table and use a swivel chair to play everything at once.
