cargo points

Post by Duck Doc »

I thought I saw a post about delivering cargo points but I can't find anything specific beyond Gregor's post about abstracting an invasion with this device. Is the landing of cargo points handled automatically by the invasion force getting to its destination? I am assuming so.

Yes, just get the ships with the Cargo Points to the ports and they will automatically start unloading. Unloading is about four times faster during the day than at night.

Thanks, Gregor.

1. Is this explained in the rules anyplace?

One of my ftf opponents feels he was disadvantaged not knowing daylight offloading was faster (although common sense would tell one so).

2. Is there any difference in ofloading rates for early-war vs. late-war scenarios, or USN vs. IJN? Or is the rate a (time-dependent) constant for both sides?

My thought is, differing rates would probably be too low-level a consideration for the design, given how remarkably clean you, Roger & Ian kept it (which I like [:)]).

1. No, I missed that, will put it in the FAQ. Yes, you unload faster during the day, but your ships doing the unloading are much easier to sink, so there's some possible costs as well.

2. The rate is constant, the CPs themselves are an arbitrary figure, so the scenario designer works it out to get the result he desires.
