Any recommendations for books covering Market-Garden?
Please post them!

Is there any book that can be called "Standardwerk"(highly useful and of highest quality, overall a MUST HAVE) for Market Garden?

A Bridge Too Far by Cornelius Ryan is very readable. I'd hesitate to call it 'standard work' as it is fairly old now. But still a 'must read'
Arnhem 1944 by Martin Middlebrook (for the Arnhem battle) is excellent

Rober Kershaw's "It never snows in September" is very good for a look at the battle from the German perspective.

In English:
Phil Nordyke, All American All The Way. The combat history of the 82nd Airborne Division. St Paul 2005. ISBN0-7603-2201-5. It has a very good and extensive chapter on MG with a lot of maps.
Tim Saunders, Battleground Europe Series. Some good titles on MG. Good addition to other sources.

In German:
DAS FALLSCHIRMJÄGER-LEHR-REGIMENT - (MBN4345)
Author: Bliss, H. & B. Bosshammer -- The best possible source about the German counterattacks on Groesbeek and Mook. Covers a lot of things that Kershaw overlooked in It Never Snows...

General Meindl und seine Fallschirmjaeger, by Winterstein & Jacobs. Also a good chapter about the attack towards Groesbeek and Mook, but not as extensive as Bliss & Bosshammer

Hell's Highway with the 101st Airborne by George Koskimaki is also a fine work

Arnhem 1944 by William F. Buckingham is a good read as well.
